SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING OF MEMBERS

At the Annual General Meeting on 27 August 2025 the President resolved that a Special General Meeting be called to hear a motion tabled regarding Regulation A85.5.
It was moved that the President of Dogs West convene a Special General Meeting to discuss and decide on the following items:
- That puppies aged between 8 weeks and under 3 calendar months be permitted to use the Dogs West grounds for restricted training purposes.
- If item (1) is agreed, then:
- That the use of the grounds be limited to organised classes only, conducted under strict biosecurity conditions – including use of enclosed rooms, agreed cleaning protocols, and no free access to the grassed areas.
- That organisations offered the opportunity to conduct these restricted classes must either be affiliated with Dogs West or, if not affiliated, their values must demonstrably reflect those of Dogs West.
Important Update
Members are advised that a recent notice of motion carried via e-vote has suspended all puppy training classes for puppies under 3 months of age on Dogs West grounds. This suspension will remain in effect until the outcome of the upcoming Special General Meeting and subsequent Governing Council meeting determines the status of such classes. Please note: no puppy training classes are currently being conducted on the grounds.
